ATTENDANCE POLICY
Absences: If you are not in class, you will not receive points for that day. If you are absent you will be allowed to make-up that absence as directed by the teacher. This may include projects/assignments and physical activity make up work.
When the make-up is done, your points will be credited to your grade. Because of block scheduling, there are longer classes and fewer class days. Therefore, it is crucial that you are in class everyday. Poor attendance does not allow you to have a good grade. If you are not feeling well, please dress down and see me for modifications.
*For extended medical or other absences/non participation, teacher and counselor will determine if student is able to meet the requirements of the course and may be removed or be given a no grade.
Tardies: If you are tardy (not in your roll call spot) from the locker room, you may miss instruction for the day and/or warm-ups. To participate safely in PE, instructions must be understood and warm-ups must be done.

WHAT TO DO IF YOU MISS A CLASS
-A minimum of 1 hour activity done outside of the school day and/or assignment as directed by teacher. Make sure to discuss with your teacher for make up work. A make-up form must be filled out and signed by a parent or guardian and turned in within 1 week of the absence.
-If a student misses PE to attend an OSAA athletic event, the absence will not affect the student’s grade and the student will not lose points.
-Your grade for a make-up will be the average of your current grade at the time of a PE make-up. You will not automatically get 4 points.
Example: Jon misses 3 classes due to sickness. If his last class missed was on January 10, he has until January 17 (1 week) to make up 3 hours of activity (1 hr for every day missed). He may also have additional assignments with due dates at teacher discretion.
Make-up cards can be used to make up missed activity -

20-20 RULE!!!!
Students will not be able to use the restrooms for the first and last 20 minutes of every class. This rule will be enforced, so make sure to use the rest rooms during passing time (which is close to 12 minutes for P.E. students!).
